SOME NEW VIBES AT LEAST !!! After too many mid-range parties, even boring parties these last months (the Blue moon was a complete failure as it rained hard for the 3 days)... Other following parties were dull, always the same sound, the same weak atmosphere... Full Moon Parties more and more like "tourist attractions" !!! But where is Phangan gone, where is our party island ?! A hope is rising, thanks to DJazz InternatL aka Jazzie C (Positive Open Mind, France), who is trying,
with the support of local prods, to organize Musical Events with LIVE performances, we mean with real musicians playing real music ! There will be many parties all over Thailand (and the world) and for Koh Phangan, the first of these events, THE BREAKBEACH, is planned on the 22nd of december, on Leelah Beach, the beach just south of Haad Rin West. It will start at 1pm, with Chill-out music, then from 5pm, the set will properly start with THE TRIBE, playing African Djambe (feat. Guy), DJ BEATORRENT, 5 times HipHop world DJ team champion, follows with VJ Pacorama and
VJ Urbandrome for the visual effets. Around 8pm, a huge Fireworks show orchestred by Amazing Sky will lighten the sky, then VJ Pacorama crew, DJ LizaMoon and DJ Jazzy C will play their live set ! Then, around 11pm, the Harmony DJ team, regurlarly rythming the Half Moon Parties will play more techno tunes.
So here are some nice stuffs to warm up for this new season, as the Full Moon will take place on the 24th december, the Christmas Party on the 25th, one Shiva is planned around the 27th, then the 31st, the new year eve and, at last, the 3rd of January, the Half Moon Party... And expect an After party following each of these !!! DJ Jazzy hopes he will be able to organize such events on a regular basis for 2008, let’s hope this new blood will give wings to our beloved island !!

WELL !!! Here we are, the Full moon Party has grown up and is already a big girl ! As it is its 20th birthday this month !! So Happy Birthday dear FMP !!! And to celebrate it as it has to, the Paradise Bungalow, the original place of the first parties 20 years ago, has planned a huge 3 day party on a secluded beach, out of Haad rin, accessible only by boat ! Many Local Djs will participate and many fire shows will take place all over the place. On the 27th and 28th, JOB2DO, a famous thai Reggae band will play live as well, so we will have a mix old style (accoustic) and new style (electronic) full moon parties all together. So on the 26th, 27th and 28th of june 2007, the place where you will have to be will definetely be KOH PHANGAN, Thailand !!!
And don’t forget the Full Moon Party itself, right on the next day, the 29th !! B.P - jun-16-2007 |

After the civil and the chinese new year, we are blessed to be able to celebrate the new year again, the Thai new year, actually. It is called the "Songkran festival", known as the "water festival" by westerners, and it’s one of the most important moment of the year. By far the most beloved celebration all over Thailand. All workers from all over the country are coming back hometo celebrate it with all the family. It is a huge migration time in Thailand and be sure to avoid to have to travel at that time of the year as all means of transport are fully booked for one week to ten days.
` We will then enter in the year 2550 of the Thai calendar (based on the birth of the Buddha). The festivities actually start around the 10th of april and may last one week, especially in the north of Thailand. The actual date for the new year is the 13th of april and it is the day you should not carry anything important in you pocket as it might be as wet as soak, in fact, everybody throw water at each other to wish the happy new year, and to send good luck. Nowadays they add shower powder, flour and, worst, shaving cream to the water... Usually a very nice and pleasant celebration full of laugh and action. And this year the rain was there as well,
huge storms and rains did water all the people, but they did enjoy a lot anyway, and it even looked like Mardis-gras as some people did add eggs to the flour as throwing objects... And to finish the evening, a Party was organised in the Jungle !! Once again, another sad point, a young thai has been shot dead by another during the festivities in Thong Sala.
